The ceremony of signing the letter of intent on the establishment of the Łaszczyński Brothers Central Hydrogen Valley took place on July 17, 2023 at the ENEA Power Plant in Kozienice.

The Łaszczyński Brothers Central Hydrogen Valley is being built on the foundations of the Łaszczyński Brothers Central Hydrogen Cluster, established by the Świętokrzyskie Industrial Group INDUSTRIA in 2021. At the time of the event, the Cluster consisted of 56 entities working for the green transformation in the central part of Poland. On the day of signing the letter of intent on the establishment of the Central Hydrogen Valley, all entities from the Cluster automatically move to the Valley, which is also joined by entities from the ENEA group, i.e. Kozienice Power Plant, Połaniec Power Plant, Nowa Energia, Elkogaz, as well as GAZ SYSTEM, ARP eVehicles and the science community from the Łódź Voivodeship and southern Mazovia.

The newly created Central Hydrogen Valley covers the following provinces: Świętokrzyskie, Łódzkie, southern Mazowsze and northern Podkarpacie.

The guests of honour at the event were the Minister of Climate and Environment Anna Moscow and the Government Plenipotentiary for RES, Deputy Minister Ireneusz Zyska.

Goals of the Łaszczyński Brothers Central Hydrogen Valley are:

  1. Solar and wind renewable energy projects with a capacity of 2 GW.
  2. Investments in electrolysers for hydrogen production with a capacity of 250 MW.
  3. Replacing coal power units with gas units ready for hydrogen co-combustion.
  4. Energy transformation of the mining sector: hydrogen as a green fuel in heavy transport.
  5. Development of hydrogen infrastructure in the region through hydrogen production, refuelling stations, passenger and freight railways, as well as urban transport based on the fuel of the future.
