Dr Ville Tulkki

Dr Ville Tulkki, D.Sc (Tech) has over 15 years of experience on research work on nuclear energy, with topics ranging from small modular reactors, to nuclear fuel behaviour, to advanced GenIV reactors and fusion. Tulkki has been leading national and EU-level research projects on small modular reactors and represented Finnish stakeholders in international programmes related to fuels and material irradiations. His technical core competence is in nuclear fuels and reactor analysis, but he has been leading multidisclipinary projects covering licensing issues, waste management, plant safety analysis and thermal hydraulics. Tulkki has led smaller nuclear fuel research group as well as a larger reactor analysis group, and currently works in a role of SMR Technology Lead as part of the VTT’s Nuclear Energy research area’s leadership team.
