Enea Elektrownia Połaniec is a significant producer of electricity in south-eastern Poland, distinguished by advanced technological solutions and an innovative approach to sustainable energy.
Enea Elektrownia Połaniec, with a high market position and for years maintaining an average level of approximately 35% of the national electricity production from biomass fuel, is considered a pioneer in this field of energy. Since 2017, it has been part of the Enea Group, the second leader in electricity generation in Poland, supplying energy to 2.7 million customers.
Situated on the bank of the Vistula River in Zawada near Połaniec, Enea Elektrownia Połaniec began operations in 1979-1983. The plant produces energy in seven units with a capacity of up to 242 MW and in one of the largest biomass power units in the world. The power of the so-called “Green Block” capacity is 225 MW, which allows powering 600,000 households and significantly contributes to reducing CO2 emissions by approximately 1.6 million tons per year.
